The following practical work experience aim to support the current developments in the research area Wireless Industrial Communication. It deals with the forming of scientific methods and tools as well as the realisation of prototypes.

K3-08-01 - Definition and determination of performance parameters of digital industrial radio systems

Offer for thesis work

Radio systems such as bluetooth, WLAN, Zigbee or DECT are to be investigated for their suitability in industrial communication.
Tasks include:
  • Analysis of digital radio technologies and products
  • Gathering and creation of methods and tools to determine performance parameters under the aspect of application in industrial automation
  • Determination of selected parameters in various surroundings (indoor, outdoor)

Description of device historical data of radio components by means of XML

Offer for practical work or thesis work

Creation of device descriptions for the engineering of radio components in industrial communication.
Tasks include:
  • Analysis of digital radio technologies and products (e.g. Bluetooth, WLAN, Zigbee) and derivation of important device parameters
  • Forming a general description of device parameters by means of XML
  • Gathering and creation of methods and tools for the management of radio systems based on device parameters

  • Dialogue system implementation with Linux or windows
  • Carrying out investigations and evaluations

Development of concepts for the wireless electric power supply of radio components which allow for the use of energy sources in a natural surrounding. Circuits have to be designed and prototypically implemented for selected concepts.
