Wireless Industrial Communication

The business volume of wireless communication solutions will significantly rise in the automation industry. The basis of these prognoses are the innovations made by wireless technologies and the demand on mobility and flexibility of applications. Trendsetting distributed automation concepts take these requirements into account. The lack of standards for automation and the lack of trust in reliability are a reason for the slow development today. The current activities of ifak address these issues.

The position of ifak in expertise committees such as DKE, GMA, PNO, and ZVEI is the basis for carrying out specifications of protocols and profiles to combine standards from office and telecommunication systems with industrial communication solutions.

The evaluation and test of wireless solutions under industrial conditions are carried out by ifak and the specification of guidelines, development of tools and services offered will continue to be developed.
