ZESAN
The cooperative project built solutions for big energy-autarkic multi-hop wireless sensor/actor networks. The main focus was on a long battery life of the network nodes and the data communication to be reliable with low bit error rates.
As part of the project, ifak tested the solutions with the help of the Radio-Transfer-Tester for Industrial Radio Solutions (FTT). The tests focused on the relevant parameters for automation, as given by the recommenddations of the VDI/VDE Guideline 2185. In order for this to work, the FTT had to be extended conceptually to the needs of this project. The experiences with the bigger networks are expected to influence further work in the VDI/VDE committee.
