Energy and flow recycle management for the food industry

Within a joint project of the partners Ostfalia University (Campus Suderburg), LimnoTec Abwasseranlagen GmbH and FlowConcept GmbH, it has been demonstrated that the use of innovative process concepts enables the closing of the water cycle for vegetable producing plants. 

Basic system and modules for design and simulation tools

In this project, a software system for the simulation of dynamic systems and related modules, which can be rapidly and inexpensively used to develop customised software applications, was developed. The software modules will be used to create specialised software solutions for engineering applications. 

Development of advanced and practice oriented control concepts for biogas plants

In order to maximise the energy production of biogas plants, it is necessary to achieve a high utilisation rate of the energy input (biomass) of e.g. 90%. Up to now only a 70% utilisation rate is reached. In this project, a model based predictive controller was developed. This controller is based on the new NIRS sensors and an innovative model of the substrate transport in the reactor.
