On August 1, 2025, a group of bachelor's students from the Geography Department at the University of Bonn, led by Professor Dr. Manfred Nutz, visited the ifak as part of an excursion to Magdeburg. The group was particularly interested in exploring the aspect of “Magdeburg as a science location.” In addition to Otto von Guericke University, this also included other scientific institutions, the Science Harbor, and the “ifak-Denkfabrik” from the perspective of spatial and urban planning. In addition to a presentation of the institute by Axel Hoppe, Olaf Czogalla presented selected research projects in the field of intelligent systems in transport and logistics to the interested group. A tour of the technical laboratory with a presentation of some exhibits rounded off the short visit from Bonn and provided an insight into the work of ifak's departments.
