In cooperation with PI, ifak offers the PROFIBUS DP Tester and PROFIBUS PA Tester test tools. These tools are used by accredited PI test laboratories for the certification of PROFIBUS devices. Device manufacturers can use the test tools to support the development process of their products or for internal tests to prepare for a smooth certification process. The test software is based on standard PROFIBUS computer interfaces. The software contains script-based test case libraries for verifying PROFIBUS conformity in accordance with the latest version of the test specifications published by PROFIBUS & PROFINET International.
The PROFIBUS DP Tester contains the test suite for verifying PROFIBUS DP slaves. It is therefore also used to verify the DP communication layer of PA devices.
The PROFIBUS PA Tester contains the supplemental test suite to verify the profile implementation of a PA device.
