ESCOM project completion

On November 19 and 20, the project partners of the ESCOM project met in Nuremberg for a two-day final meeting. Our colleagues Melanie Stolze and Niklas Ritz presented the most important results with great practical relevance to the project sponsor DLR and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR).

What was developed in the project?

  • Value-adding digital services for components – from idea to implementation.
  • Interoperable modeling of these services via the Asset Administration Shell (AAS). Our focus: understanding the service itself as an asset and modeling a service AAS.

In a short but impressive demonstration, we showed how the service AAS can be seamlessly integrated via a specially developed service manager. Data exchange between service users and providers took place via the Eclipse Dataspace Connector, which offers a real glimpse into the future of networked industry.

The intensive collaboration with all project partners has led to tangible results, which we now want to bring to the community and develop further. We are convinced that the approaches presented will become an important building block for the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry. We welcome feedback, questions, and professional exchange with all interested parties.
