The project KURAS has developed sustainable concepts to deal with waste water and rain water in urban regions based on clima change and demographical development assumptions. Within this project, ifak has modelled, simulated and analysed various measures to improve the behaviour of waste water treatment plants in overload situations (more frequent heavy storm events) as well as low flow rate or load situations expected e.g. during more dry sommer seasons. Furthermore, through risk and SWOT analyses, ifak has contributed to increasing the resilience of the measures developed in the KURAS project.
