DYNAMO

dynamic and seamless mobility information

DYNAMO

The main goal of the project DYNAMO is the development and exemplary realisation of dynamic information services to support travellers in trip planning (pre-trip) and to provide trip guidance (on-trip). The research works are focused on aspects such as in-door positioning, routing and navigation, intermodal use of diverse transport modes with real time traveller information, social networks and accessibility. A systematic approach is required for the navigation from door to door that enables a sufficiently precise positioning and navigation in outdoor areas and within buildings using off-the-shelf products and available technologies.

Important research and development activities include the design and development of a bluetooth based sensor system to improve positioning accuracy in indoor areas and in public transport vehicles. Therefore are being developed appropriate algorithms for a reliable positioning and navigation within buildings and vehicles based on a pedestrian suited digital map.

The project pursues a user centric approach based on typical application cases and takes into account the “design for all” concept, thereby  promoting a universal design that regards user groups with differing physical abilities like elderly people, people without disabilities and people with disabilities. The basic services are designed and collaboratively developed by participating project partners and will be tested in form of transport association specific services  in two field test sites of Frankfurt/Main and Munich.
