Electronic Device Descriptions (EDD) compliant to IEC 61804-3 are being developed inside the EDD Studio based on various projects. Such a project combines all files belonging to a device description, e.g. dictionaries, include-files, import-files and EDD files. The profile for the EDD can be selected within a project. Therefore the integrated checker can check in detail whether all elements of the EDD are used correctly. In this process, syntax as well as parts of the static semantic will be checked, e.g. resolving of references. Thereafter, the well designed EDD can be interpreted by means of the specific integrated component. This component generates the GUI elements and executes all activated actions. Recent enhancements are dedicated to be compliant to the recent edition of the IEC standard and to support modular devices.
