iMediMan

The overall medication costs play a significant role in ambulant and clinical settings as well as in health care facilities. The statutory health insurance, for example, spent over 30 billion Euros for medicine in 2009. It can be assumed that these costs will continue to rise.

In the project iMediMan, a software solution is being developed which helps optimizing the logistics chain between the clinic‘s pharmacy and its individual wards. With an innovative combination of a material and an information management system the project further aims at rising the overall patient safety and drug therapy safety. All development activities are accompanied by an evaluation of the impact on patient care.
