Urban Space: User-oriented assistance systems and network management

UR:BAN

Thirty partners including automobile and electronic manufacturers, suppliers, communication technology and software companies, as well as research institutes and cities, have joined in the cooperative project UR:BAN to develop advanced driver assistance and traffic management systems for cities. The focus is on the human element in all aspects of mobility and traffic.

The main goals of ifak within the project are the development of methods and prototypical implementations of assistance systems for the protection of traffic participants such as cyclists and pedestrians, the development of assistance systems for better infrastructure information and data as well as the development of test systems within the traffic domain. The main focus of the research field model based testing and system design within the project UR:BAN is on the development of efficient methods and tools for the testing of cooperative systems like Car2X applications and the large distributed technical systems of traffic management.
