A method for the accumulation of energy totally free in space without using pre-defined transmission channels would be very advantageous for several application areas in industry. A promising method therefore is the local focus of ultrasonic waves.
Aim of the project is the realization of a model based method for the calibration of such systems without the need of experimental work.
In result of the project work a simulation and calculation method will be available to configure an acoustic sensor system using a so-called virtual cavity instead of a real phased array. Using this, an arbitrary movable focus point of acoustic energy in fluids or solids can be realized.
