ITS Action Plan Saxony-Anhalt

Guidelines for the establishment of ITS-architectures are needed for the sustainable implementation of innovative components and systems for traffic and mobility management, however currently no obligatory and consistent or standardised guidelines for the establishment of ITS-architectures exist in Germany. In 2008 the European Commission published an ITS Action Plan and a directive to specify a frame for the implementation of ITS in road traffic which also emphasises this significance. Within the initiative “Applied traffic and transport sciences/ Galileo-Transport of the German federal state Saxony-Anhalt”, an ITS Master Plan is currently being devised. The implementation of an ITS Master Plan demands cooperation and coordination not only related to special projects but also afterwards in daily routine. The aim of the work on the ITS Master Plan for Saxony-Anhalt is to find a first consensus which needs to be stimulated by the use of incentives and mechanisms which are independent of persons.
