The aim of the project was the analysis and preparation of data and processes that are required in order to consider wireless communication solutions during the entire lifecycle of industrial automation systems. This applies to characteristic and influencing parameters of wireless solutions and processes such as investigation of radio propagation conditions or the coexistence management. An information model has been developed in order to consider wireless solutions during planning, construction, commissioning, operation, service, and maintenance of automation systems. The results ensure the independence of wireless technologies and the use for factory and process automation. Time and effort for considering wireless solutions within the automation lifecycle can be reduced as a result of the project. The results were presented with a demonstration application.
