Liquid level measurement by ultrasonic clamp-on-sensors is advantageous for numerous applications due to the non-invasive function. In practice, however, different technical reasons (e.g. structure borne sound, misalignment of transducer) hinder the usablility. The project TILT aims to solve those problems and to make the measurement process more practicable. For this, improved sensors are combined with self-calibrating installation routines and integrated data management systems. Thus, it is expected that the liquid level measurement systems become more versatile employable, reliable, user-friendly and can develop new market capabilities.
