SAmpSONS

Verification of a planning tool for simulation and visualisation of resource fluxes in new and alternative sanitation systems

SAmpSONS

New and alternative sanitation systems are more and more within the focus of attention also in Germany, considering reduced availability of resources, decreasing water consumption and demographic and climatic changes. Such systems aim at reuse of limited resources (e.g.nutrients) and at a more sustainable management of water resources. Within the preceding SAmpSONS project, the first version of a simulator has been developed (available for free from https://www.ifak.eu/en/products/sampsons), which allows the visualisation of resource fluxes in new and alternative sanitation systes. Furthermore, SAmpSONS allows an assessment of such systems with regard to a number of sustainability criteria. The present project extends the SAmpSONS simulator by additional sanitation technologies and extends it to the needs of additional user groups.

Wanted: Test users and technology providers

The SAmpSONS team would be glad to hear from (test) users of SAmpSONS and from companies having developed new and alternative sanitation technologies which they would like to see implemented in SAmpSONS.
