Tomographic process monitoring of liquid multiphase systems

TOPAS

The spatially resolved monitoring of physical parameters can provide key information that allow for precise control and optimization of liquid-based reactions. However, there is often a lack of adequate measurement methods that make a tomographic image of a process medium and its spatial distribution available. Aim of the project was therefore to develop and combine process-capable, inline-suitable measurement methods (ultrasonic, capacitive) for the continuous tomographic monitoring of multiphase liquid mixtures. Based on the test stand the characterisation of the disperse phase in mixtures with stable phase boundaries, particle size and concentration gradients have been analysed in heterogeneous and disperse media.
