Last week, our research assistant Maximilian Hollenbach attended this year's EMC Europe conference, which was held at Sorbonne University in Paris. Specialists from all areas of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) came together to present their latest scientific findings and exchange ideas in the picturesque city setting.
Maximilian Hollenbach presented a paper by the working group on wireless power transfer (WPT), in which an 11 kW power transfer system for vehicles was presented at the laboratory test level, developed on the basis of the reference designs from the norms. What makes it special is that it is the first of its kind not to exceed the limit values for radiated magnetic fields at a distance of 10 m in the range from 9 kHz to 30 MHz according to IEC 61980. The paper presents the design of the system as well as strategies for reducing the emitted magnetic fields.
