We are proud to announce that Alexander Bentkus from Deutsche Bahn will be the keynote speaker at Industrial Radio Day (IRD) and KommA 2025! He will give a presentation on Deutsche Bahn's industrial 5G networks – areas of application * potential * challenges.
This presentation will provide practical insights into how a new technology was gradually made operational and what challenges remain in order to realize its full potential. The industrial 5G networks are being used in Deutsche Bahn's maintenance facilities and are gradually being rolled out. The new DB plant in Cottbus is responsible for heavy maintenance of the ICE4 fleet and will receive the first productive 5G network from January 2026.
The presentation will take place on November 12, 2025, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as part of the IRD and KommA at the ifak - Institute for Automation and Communication.
