International project OPTIMUM receives "Exceptional ITEA Award of Excellence"

The ITEA PO Days 2022 took place in Helsinki in mid-September (13-14.09.2022). The international ITEA project OPTIMUM was awarded the "Exceptional ITEA Award of Excellence" across all three award categories (innovation, standardisation and market impact).

The research project, which was funded by the BMBF in Germany, focused on: distributed controls for automation, indoor localisation of man and machine, cyber security as well as 3D engineering and visualisation. Another goal was to benefit from new IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) concepts to promote networking and efficiency in manufacturing.

The focus of ifak's work was on the development of a distributed control concept based on efficient and secure communication as well as position-dependent assistance and control functions.

Another highlight was the participation of Dr. Thomas Bangemann in the interactive session "The Sparks of ITEA" where he shared his experiences with ITEA and ITEA projects.
