The results of the European research project AVANTI (ITEA2-Projekt 12035) were presented to surveyors of BMBF and ITEA by means of a final review presentation.
ifak developed together with it research partners solutions and demonstrators for the Virtual Commissioning of transport systems and production machines.
For that reason ifak designed behavior descriptions of machine components and integrated them into a co-simulation framework. In addition ifak developed a tool for the formalized description of test cases and their automatic execution. Partners like tarakos GmbH provided the physics engine based simulation of the complete production system or FESTO AG realized the mechanical and electrical construction of the demonstrator.
The simulation models will be used in Virtual Commissioning of machines and production systems in order to check and test the correctness of controller programs. As a result one can reduce the time of commissioning or retrofit of complex production system significantly.
Furthermore the dependability of the production system is increased.
