On 5 August 2025, the online seminar 'SIMBA# 7.0: New Technology, New Features 2025' took place.
Participants from engineering companies, water and wastewater associations, universities and research institutions took the opportunity to learn about the most important innovations in the new version first-hand and discuss them directly with Dr Jens Alex, Head of the Water and Energy Department at ifak.
The seminar focused on the new technological foundation and extended functionality that make SIMBA#7 an even more powerful simulation tool for the water and wastewater sector.
With version 7, SIMBA# has been migrated to a new technical platform. sIt now runs on .NET 9.0 (previously .NET Framework 4.8) and uses Avalonia for the user interface (previously WPF).
Key new features at a glance:
- SCADA library for real-time model operation (e.g. for training purposes).
- Animated reaction networks for visualising substance flows (e.g. based on ASM models).
- Assistants for optimisation, calibration and report generation
- Dynamic text displays to show simulation results directly in the model
- Extended Sankey diagram options
- Code auto-completion in C# editors.
- An improved PV model with building shading functionality.
We would like to thank all participants for their interest and valuable contributions to the discussion.
