Today, on 7 November 2023, Ms Helieh Abasi of Institut National de Recherche Scientifique (INRS)
from Québec City, Canada, has given her final presentation, concluding her research stay at ifak. Mrs Abasi was Visiting Scientist at ifak for the last four months as part of her PhD research on the topic "Optimization of Interventions to Reduce Combined Sewer Overflows". During her research stay, she applied recent research results obtained at ifak on the topic of reduction of detailed hydrodynamic sewer system models to an analysis of the potential of various measures of stormwater management. Measures analysed for the sewer system of Québec City included stormwater tanks, disconnection of impervious areas and sewer system real time control. The ifak team wishes Ms Abasi for her further research and for the final stages of her PhD continued success.
