At an event organised by ifak and OvGU with robotics specialist and CEO of "The Construct" Ricardo Tellez, current research results on the topic of autonomous driving and the use of the Robot Operating System (ROS) were presented. Researchers Bastian Rappholz and Philipp Hörnlein from the department Measurement Technology and Power Electronics presented current work on inductive charging of autonomous vehicles and the use of ROS to automate robotic vehicles. Head of Department Traffic & Assistance Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Zadek and research assistant René Schönrock presented the topics of Car2X communication, user analyses for the use of automated vehicles in public transport and the associated control centre system for remote vehicle monitoring. Our guest Ricardo Tellez presented his comprehensive ROS learning platform "The Construct", which has been used at ifak for learning the robotics framework ROS for quite some time. The event provided an opportunity for exchange about current research projects and possible future joint project work.
