This week, the 2nd milestone meeting of the ESCOM project took place at our partner CONTACT Software in Bremen. This was preceded by a workshop which, based on the research results to date, discussed further ideas for integrating the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), the Gaia-X data ecosystem, AI algorithms and blockchain technology. In contrast to the online meetings, it became clear on site that the personal exchange helped enormously to sharpen the focus once again and define the objectives for the coming months.
In addition to the consortium partners, the 2nd milestone meeting was also attended by Ms Barbara Schmitz, representing the project sponsor DLR, and Mr Tom Kraus from the accompanying research. The team was already able to show initial implementations of the AAS in CONTACT Software's IoT platform, including the edge cloud component service sub-model developed in the project itself, which will be tested and further developed in practice in the future.
The two-day intensive work exchange was rounded off with an evening event at which the challenges and ideas relating to the project were discussed in a relaxed atmosphere.
