ifak team presents city simulator in Vietnam

In today's scenario workshop, held in the city hall of Da Nang in Central Vietnam, the ifak team has presented the "Rapid Planning" simulator, which has been developed by ifak in close cooperation with the other project partners. It forms one of the core results of the "Rapid Planning" project, funded by the German Federal Ministy of Education and Research (BMBF). The "Rapid Planning Simulator" supports cities in their strategic and integrated pre-planning of urban infrastructure (water supply, energy supply, urban agriculture, wastewater and waste management) in an efficient way.

Dr Gloria Robleto and Dr Manfred Schütze presented the structure and the use of this novel simulator and outlined some of the results obtained for several scenarios of the future of the city of Da Nang. Hence, ifak works on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus. Tomorrow [17 Jul 2019], the ifak team will provide a capacity building course on the use of the simulator to the urban planning department and to the utility companies of the city of Da Nang (image). Final results and conclusions of the "Rapid Planning" project will be presented at this Thursday's [18 Jul 2019] Final Conference of the project in Da Nang.
